Mechanical Fitters - Afternoon Shift

Our client is a leading provider of transport maintenance services across Australia. Due to new contracts, we are seeking multiple skilled Workshop Mechanical Fitters based in Newcastle. The successful candidates will be based on Afternoon Shift for the majority of the project, after an initial onboarding period on day shift.

What’s Involved:

• Stripping and rebuilding mechanical underframes from the rail industry

• Use of precision measuring equipment (verniers and micrometers) and large torque wrenches

• Collaborating as part of a dynamic team

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings

What We’re Looking For:

• Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a recognized Trade Certificate

• Experience in mechanical strip and rebuild and using the required tooling

• Rail maintenance experience is highly regarded, but not essential

• Forklift and dogging ticket is a plus

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

What We Offer You:

• $71 / hour - Afternoon shift rate (casual)

• $61 / hour - Day shift rate (casual)

• Monday - Friday 2 PM - 11 PM

• 3 - 6 month project with possibility of extension

• Based in Newcastle

• Immediate start
